Hello! I’m Mx. LaMontagne, and I am the Head Librarian for Reed-Gumenick Library!
I’ve been working in RGL for 15 years, and I love it!
My favorite book genres are:
realistic fiction (especially sad books and books that deal with intense topics, but also friendship stories and family stories and stories of hope!);
graphic novels (books by Jerry Craft, Gene Luen Yang, Raina Telegemeier, etc!);
books that are mostly realistic but have a bit of magic in them (like Savvy or 11 Birthdays);
and historical fiction (which I did NOT like before I stared working here, but has become a favorite because I can learn about history through interesting characters).
Aside from reading, I enjoy writing, sewing, doing puzzles (crossword, jigsaw, sudoku), making art, hanging out with my family and my cats, and binge-watching television shows over a weekend. And napping! I love a good nap on a rainy day.
